The Province of Ontario has announced Phase 1 of the gradual re-opening of services.
Health and safety continues to be a priority and our agency will be following the guidance of Toronto Public Health to prepare our sites to re-initiate in-person services during the coming weeks and months. Currently, and until further notice, our physical sites will remain closed. We want you to know that all of our services remain open during this time and can be accessed remotely by phone or videoconferencing for both existing and new clients.
We thank you for your patience during this challenging time.
Mental health care for children, youth and family is even more relevant now in these unprecedented times.
In continuing to provide our counselling services, we have moved to a phone ‘walk-in’ service, and face-to-face online sessions.
So, even though our clinics are physically closed, there is sill a place for children, youth and families as they navigate anxieties and depressions experienced at this time.
Due to COVID-19 we are taking extra precautions and measures to mitigate the risk for clients and staff. As a result, we will be closing the following programs and services. A physical shutdown does not mean they are not operating virtually.
– The Studio
– MLSE Launchpad
– Harm Reduction
The Studio might be closed physically, but our virtual presence has increased. We focus on daily activities that help youth connect over Zoom calls and activities such as Netflix parties.
The Studio is also here for youth that are in need of food and/or basic needs support. Follow @StudioAtSkylark to stay up to date with initiatives from The Studio.
Our harm reduction team is still in action, we’ve scheduled 3 FREE virtual workshops for youth and young adults. More info can be found below!
Skylark at MLSE Launchpad
Skylark is still providing drop-in counseling through phone calls. To contact Coach Dave and Coach Nicole call 416-482-0081 ext 417 for Coach Dave or ext 324 for Coach Nicole.
Join us for a virtual coffee with Skylark!
In this workshop parents will have an opportunity to connect with other parents and Skylark therapists. We will discuss self-care, managing our own difficult feelings/anxiety that may be coming up, and cultivating work and home life balance. Parents will leave this workshop with strategies to cope with challenging feelings and increase parental peer support!
